Even though Godzilla has been around for 67 years, this is the first time that an anime was created for Godzilla. From the trailers, it was obvious that they were taking Godzilla and the other monsters in a new direction. 13 episodes make up the first season and they we’re pretty good. Visually the show looked great. The use of both 2D and 3D animation felt natural. The story on the other hand, I felt could have been a little better. This show heavily looks at its world from a scientific standpoint. Meaning what ever happens in the show, there’s a scientific explanation behind that and the show will have its character explain these events. This brings the show down a bit because it is easy to get lost in these long explainations and unfortunately it can cause the viewer to be turned off from the show. Another problem of the show is there are too many characters for such a short amount of time. The main cast is good but it should have been left at that. In the middle of the show, they add new characters and they expect you to care about these new characters but there’s not enough of time to get to know them. The last problem of the show is there is not enough Godzilla. For some reason, this has been happening recently in Godzilla media. Godzilla doesn’t appear until the very end of the show. Other than those three negatives, the show is good. The main cast is entertaining, even though there isn’t a lot of monster fights, the fights that are in the show are fun to watch, and the different takes on these classic monsters are very interesting. In conclusion, Godzilla Singular Point is a good addition to the Godzilla community and I am very interested to what they have in stored for season 2. I give Godzilla Singular Point a 6/10.
