My Worries for Transformers Rise of the Beasts

Finally! Another live action Transformers film was announced in June! It will be called Transformers Rise of the Beasts and will take place a decade after Travis Knight’s Bumblebee. As the title suggests, this film will include the characters from the Beast Wars TV show. To sum up what has been released publicly, here’s what we could possibly see. The Autobots and Decepticons will be fighting on Earth and the Maximals and Terracons will join in the battle. Then a bounty Hunter named Scourge will also be in the mix along with new human characters. This is where I start to worry. It already sounds like a lot going on. The movie will have to introduce the new Autobots and Decepticons, on top of introducing the Maximals and Terracons, on top of introducing the human characters, on top of introducing the main villain which is Scourge. That’s a lot of characters and information to give to an audience at once, especially if some of these viewers don’t know who these characters are. Also there will be Optimus Prime, Optimus Primal, and it sounds like the look for Scourge will take inspiration from the TV show Transformers Robots in Disguise. In that show, he looked just like Optimus except he had a black and teal color scheme. If the writers do not explain these characters well, there could be a lot of confusion between the three. I think the best option would have been to make these two separate movies instead of cramming it all into one. Since this will be a sequel to Bumblebee, this movie should have been just between the Autobots and Decepticons then introducing the Maximals and Terracons in another movie. But who knows, maybe I’m overthinking it! Hopefully this movie will be successful, because I’d hate for this to be the last time we see the Transformers on the big screen.
